February 2, 2019
It’s that time of year again! Friends, family and rivals are coming together for the 2019 Super Bowl. A fine frenzy of food has been a staple of football gathering for decades. While most of us are munching on whatever food is in front of us, take a moment to look over our suggests for keeping your Mountain View Super Bowl party a kid and tooth friendly event.
1 Tasty Cheeses
Cheese is a mainstay of all sports get togethers. Not only is it a party for your childs taste buds but it’s also an excellent source of calcium for their growing bodies. Calcium helps keep your teeth and bones strong. Up your cheese game for this Sunday’s football feast by dropping by the The Milk Pail Market for some tasty, cheesy, goodness.
2 Crunchy Veggies
You can easily go right for the fruit trays at your local market. Fruits are delicious but at the same time they are filled with sugars that can cause trouble down the road. Dr. Leyla Abazari would ask you to consider stepping away from that fruit tray and to lean towards a veggie tray instead. Vegetables like, carrots, celery and cauliflower are filled with fiber that help scrub the plaque of your children’s teeth as they chew. They are natures toothbrushes and can be an excellent substitution for sugary fruits.
3 Smooth Dips
Dips are one of our favorite things to snack on during the Super Bowl and it is likely to be seen in your home this February 3rd. Dip can be made with anything, but we highly recommend using yogurt as a base in your dips. Non-sweetened yogurts provide an excellent based for all sorts of dips. In fact, if you choose a Greek yogurt you’re likely to get an extra boost of protein and the healthy bacteria your mouth needs to stay in shape. Tzatziki, French Onion, or even an Avocado dip can be made with yogurt as a base.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our post regarding our favorite dentist approved snacks. Have a great 2019 Super Bowl and we hope your team takes home the trophy!
