Dr. Leyla Abazari, DDS, MSD
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Abazari, for the past 20 years, has been setting the highest standards of excellence in clinical pediatric dentistry. Dr. Abazari received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2002. In 2004, she completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Riley Children's Hospital and Indiana University in Indianapolis.
Dr. Abazari is highly regarded in her professional community. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has lectured to pediatricians, general dentists, and other dental specialists on current topics in Pediatric Dentistry.
Her lectures focus on the prevention of dental decay and early intervention. In addition, Dr. Abazari has lectured on minimally invasive therapeutic procedures, which have drawn lots of attention and interest in recent years.
Dr. Abazari has considerable experience and extensive training in caring for children's oral health care needs. As an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry for five years in UCSF and USC, Dr. Abazari has contributed to the education and training of many dental students.
Dr. Abazari maintains memberships in professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, as she stays current on the latest advancements in the dental industry. She is also a member of local dental society such as Mid-Peninsula Dental Society and Santa Clara Dental Society.
Forever Smiles Pediatric Dentistry believes in giving back to the community, which is why every year, Dr. Abazari and her staff volunteer at schools, local mom's club organizations, and health fairs doing community outreach activities. Each year during Children's Dental Health Month, Dr. Abazari and her staff give toothbrushes flossers and provide education for those in need.
Dr. Abazari resides in Palo Alto with her husband Paymon and her two daughters. She loves spending time with her family at local parks, reading, cooking, and traveling.

Dr. David Abazari, DMD, MPH
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Abazari obtained his dental degree from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. He cultivated his passion for research, academic achievement, and community service leading several organizations and receiving the Merit Scholarship, American Association of Pediatric Dentistry Student Award, Tufts Research Fellowship Grant, and the Massachusetts Dental Society Public Health Award. Dr. Abazari's clinical experiences revealed the importance of a calm and nurturing environment for his patients, often due to poor experiences they endured during childhood. This emboldened Dr. Abazari's aspiration to be at the forefront of non-traumatic dentistry in the pediatric population.
After dental school, Dr. Abazari completed his specialty training at the top-ranking Children's Hospital of Colorado's pediatric dental residency. For two years, he honed in on modern behavior management strategies, regularly treating dental traumas and acute infections in the Emergency Department, specializing plans for children with complex medical and behavioral needs, and completing over one hundred operating room and sedation procedures.
Dr. Abazari believes in safe and effective treatment but, above all, believes that special considerations and a positive environment are required to provide the best care for children.
As California natives, Dr. Abazari and his wife enjoy spending time with their bernadoodle puppy, hiking, skiing, and exploring the beautiful California coast. As a movie buff, Dr. Abazari takes every opportunity to chat up his patients about all the newest Marvel and Disney movies.

Dr. Aree Freed, DDS
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Freed is a Board Certified dentist anesthesiologist. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington’s School of Dentistry in Seattle, WA. There, she focused on treating pediatric and medically complex patients and expanding her knowledge of anesthesia in the dental-surgical setting. After graduating from dental school, she completed a three-year residency in Dental Anesthesiology at NYU Langone in Brooklyn, NY. During her hospital-based residency, Dr. Freed was trained to provide anesthesia services for a wide variety of surgical specialties including pediatrics, ENT, OB-GYN, plastic surgery, urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, and vascular surgery.
Dr. Freed dedicates her career to providing compassionate and safe anesthesia services to her patients in the dental setting. She is a trusted advocate for pediatric oral health and collaborates with local pediatric dentists and other healthcare specialists to provide comprehensive care for young patients with complex dental conditions. Dr. Freed provides a gentle and patient-centered approach, tailoring anesthesia solutions to each child’s unique needs and fostering open communication with parents and her patients.

Dr. Edirin Sido, DMD
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Edirin's (pronounced Adearie) passion is to serve and care for her patients. With a multicultural upbringing in the California Bay Area, Dr. Edirin moved to Boston to attend Harvard College for her undergraduate degree and Harvard University’s School of Dental Medicine for her doctorate in dental medicine.
After dental school, Dr. Edirin returned to the west coast to be closer to family and complete a two-year pediatric dental residency training at Oregon Health and Science University where she trained to care for children with special needs, complex medical diagnoses, and behavioral difficulties, using both non-pharmacological behavior management techniques and sedation. Dr Edirin's warm, kid-centric approach to every child and family, fosters growth, engagement, and centers on holistic well-being.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Edirin is either trying to convince her family/friends to try a new recipe she found, staying active (volleyball is her favorite), spending time with her extended family, and engaging with her local community and church.

Vicky Martínez

I joined the Forever Smiles Pediatric and Orthodontic team in 2021. I started my dental assistant/orthodontic assistant journey in Oregon and continued my education in California. I attended Heald College and received my Associate Applied in Science. I have been working as an orthodontic assistant for five years now. I absolutely love my career!
I love to help our patients create beautiful smiles, and most of all, I love to see our patients' faces full of joy when their braces are removed. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and taking our two children to the park, movies, and afternoon walks.

I have worked in the dental field for more than fourteen years, starting as a dental assistant. I graduated from a dental program in 2007. I eventually ventured into the administration part, working in billing, insurance, and accounts payable.

Hello! My name is Yodit Phifer-Houseman. I’m an RDA. I was born and raised in Ethiopia. I’ve lived in the US for 19 years. I graduated from San Jose City College and got my degree in Dental Assisting. I started working for Dr. Abazari in 2019, and I’m very grateful to work with such a wonderful, fun, amazing team which I consider my family.
I love working with kids because they make me laugh, and they always put a smile on my face. In my free time, I like hiking, going to the beach, gym, reading, and cooking. I have a sister and two brothers, who I enjoy visiting often in Sacramento.

Hi! My name is Josselyn Ramirez, lead Registered Dental Assistant at Forever Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. I have been a member of our dental team since 2019 after receiving my training at San Jose City College. The best part of my job is being around kids and helping Dr. Abazari create beautiful, healthy smiles. When our patients return for their follow-up visits confidently and unafraid, I rejoice with great pride.
When not at work, my time is spent with my amazing one-year-old son, watching movies and playing in the park. I enjoy dancing, biking, and going to the beach with my family.

As Treatment Plan Coordinator at Forever Smiles Dentistry, my goal is to transparently present treatment plans and schedule appointments. When I’m not working alongside our wonderful team, I enjoy spending time with my two fun and fabulous daughters. Together, we love to shop at Target and take day trips around the bay.
